Innovation is no substitute for experience, organizational abilities, attention to detail and communications skills. Yes, we have innovative means of tracking RFI's, PCO's and all of the documentation required by and for construction projects. But our truest, most valuable, and most unique innovation is the training provided for each team member at Salas O'Brien; what we call the Total Service Plan, a unique approach for project design and completion.
Unlike most, if not all Construction Management (CM) firms, Salas O'Brien is an integrated firm where CM, Engineering, Architecture and Finance meld and share equal importance. Within that framework, all staff is trained with an equal focus on planning, design, construction and commissioning. Innovation, therefore, comes from not looking at each of these elements as discreet, but rather as necessarily integrated.
The end result of this philosophy is a CM team who can challenge the design and construction team. We get to know the design and construction team with respect to their strengths and limitations. By recognizing each and with focused efforts, we are able to enhance the team, spotlighting the good and minimizing the limits but, overall, maintaining the defined budget for the project with remarkable accuracy.
From design to completion of construction, we offer the complete package. Regardless of which service our clients contract us to provide, each branch of our company is supported by the others, inherently augmenting our service and – more importantly – the strength and success of your construction project.
As part of our CM Services, we will offer coordination of the drawings, bid package development assistance, scheduling, and completion of work with service and staffing that nurture a feeling of trust and security in our ability to be your eyes and ears in the field. We have developed several specialized computer tools to aide in the documentation (e.g. for submittal and drawing coordination matrices). More importantly, our chain of communication and documentation will provide all necessary back up documents from the beginning of the project to the very end.
In summary, Salas O'Brien innovation is in the depth and training of the assigned staff, in the ability to communicate and in the tools deployed on the project. Ultimately instead of being a "gate" through with all communication and documentation must pass, our approach is to become an open and engaging channel to which all team members come for rapid, practical and constructable problem solution.
