Salas O'Brien Engineers, Inc. was originally founded in 1975 as O'Brien and Associates. The company's founder, Dan O'Brien, joined forces with his partner Carl Salas and the company was incorporated in 1979. The company ideology -- that clients are best served by swift work and attention to detail -- still holds true today. It is this ideology that has resulted in sustained growth from a one man operation to the firm's current size of nearly fifty employees. O'Brien retired in 1999 but recently returned as a fulltime Senior Engineer.

The philosophy was that engineering solutions must balance many factors: cost, maintenance, performance, size... We listen to what clients want, what their priorities are, and then take appropriate action. This balance is symbolized by the balance in the solar system. We respect the warmth, light, and energy of the sun. While the company has evolved beyond an energy services company, the basic philosophy is as true today as ever. The walls of this respected and beautifully preserved 1886 mansion house a virtual bee hive of innovative engineers and support staff using state of the art equipment and technology to serve our broad base of client needs. Though we support clients throughout California and other states, our branch offices in Oakland and Monterey complete our Northern California presence.
